In our opinion...

Guardian.co.uk, the website of the Guardian newspaper, is packed with news, columns and features, all attractively presented to catch the eye of the discerning reader.

Guardian.co.uk, like the newspaper itself,  tends to appeal to the those with left of centre political leanings with its  rich variety of expertly crafted stories and features.

One advantage that Guardian.co.uk offers, even for those visitors who have already bought their copy of the daily paper, is its ability to update the lead story minute by minute, complete with video footage via its news blog section. This makes the Guardian website a credible alternative to the 24-hour TV news channels, with the added advantage of allowing visitors to make their comments online. These features, coupled with the news-ticker streaming across the top of the homepage, makes Guardian.co.uk a major attraction for a news-hungry public.

Sport is always a popular subject for the online surfer, and Guardian.co.uk's coverage is first rate. Like the news pages it also has own breaking news ticker. Online live coverage of top sporting events is also available.

As well as providing a first rate news and sports coverage service, it is also provides a series of informative features, including Media, Science, Technology and Society. All are easily accessed though the tool bars at the head of the page. And in an age where facts are not only disseminated by word, Guardian.co.uk's media section, replete with video clips on a whole range of topics, is a particularly welcome innovation.

Guardian.co.uk is a treat to visit. With well written up-to-date news and features, blogs and videos, it is as entertaining as it is informative.
